We are experiencing continued problems with SBTrack (aka reading.exe), the software developed by Matt Crocker and his group in Saarbruecken. The software seems to crash during experiments with a generic Windows error message and data loss. This happens randomly and infrequently (approximately every 10-12 subjects). The problems occur both in the reading mode and in the visual world mode of SBTrack. Christoph Scheepers points out that this is likely to be related to the scene camera option, which seems to be incompatible with the current version of SBTrack. Users are therefore advised not to use SBTrack for the time being.

The alternative is EyeTrack, the UMass Eyetracking Software, which offers the functionality of SBTrack, but also has a graphical user interface, and additional options, such as gaze contingent display. EyeTrack is installed on the display PCs. For details, please consult the documentation, or the UMass web pages. Also note that that the EyeTrack comes with EyeDoctor, which is a nice graphical tool for post-processing eyetracking data.
