Welcome to the Database Group at Edinburgh
The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh has a new and growing database group. It is part of the Laboratory for the Foundations of Computer Science; it leads the research activities of the
Digital Curation Centre; and it has connections with the
National e-Science Centre and other organizations involved with scientific databases. The group participates in the
DELOS Network of Excellence on Digital Libraries.
Interests of the group span all aspects of database systems and theory. Topics of current interest include semistructured data and
XML, data integration, novel approaches to query processing and storage, data provenance, archiving and annotation. Many of these topics are relevant to
scientific data management, an area in which Edinburgh has unique strengths.
Recruiting:
Postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.
