Who tweets when and what ?

  • During office hours (Mon - Fri, 9 - 5) Support will be responsible for sending out tweets. Units should contact Support with details of any messages they would like sent out.
  • Support will send out regular tweets.
  • Out of Office hours, anyone can tweet (if you don't know the password, ask Support).
  • If you do add a post out of hours to alert people to a problem, remember to post updates on the situation and add a final post to say things have been fixed (if this also happens out of hours).
  • If fixing a problem out-of-hours continues into normal working hours, keep Support informed so that they can continue to post messages as appropriate.
  • We will include a twitter widget on computing.help (see brent.inf.ed.ac.uk for now to see what it will look like)
  • Use twitter to announce problems, planned downtime, new services, changes to existing services and anything else that you feel is relevant.
  • The aim is for people to follow us on twitter rather than to use it as a quick alternative to the support form!
