Teaching Support Provider Staff Account Issues

Summary for discussion on how we technically manage "students that are also staff" (as maybe, or maybe not, distinct from "staff which are also students").

  • Some of these 340 "new staff" are undergraduates. Are they "staff" like you and me now?
  • They'll need newUUN@inf forwarded to newUUN@o365 - This assumes they will automatically get newUUN@o365 inboxes.
  • Do they get their 500 per day cloud print/copy quota?
  • Their new homepages.inf/newUUN/ have already been created
  • The full staff AFS disk quota?
  • Access to staff only machines/services?
  • Is there a risk they'll get the "submit" role?
  • Should support be dishing out passwords for them?
  • Will they be able to self register for EASE?
  • Swipe cards?
  • Stuff I've not thought of.
    • which email to use on mailing lists
    • which account to interact with on our systems (e.g. webmark for marks and timesheet submission)
