LCFG Server Refactoring

No progress.

Server Hardware

In a "user acceptance" phase.

In a "user acceptance" phase.

  • The DICE pam stack should now work. It's like the SL5 one but with the new perl AFS module. The inf unit can test it now.
  • DICE installs are almost there.
  • The old GDM can't (yet?) be built on F13. We'll go with the default for now but keep looking for something better. We'll need to make xauth use /tmp rather than the home directory.

Miscellaneous Development

refreshpkgs ready for telford
DNS and resolvconf
these are no longer used in the install.
fstab on HP DL180
Alastair has got the fstab component working on the HP server.
Software build farm
Stephen hopes to start this project in July.

  • Chris moved the forumtracker to rendall, a VM on central.
  • There's a problem with the HP DL180 server. The BMC isn't working - it doesn't support VLAN tagging. We'll therefore need to buy an additional ether card for each of these machines. This might be an issue for AFS fileservers or anything that needs fibrechannel - is there space for an FC card too?

This Week

Alastair will:

  • Dual path bpeast
  • Organise F13 meeting
  • Amend dates

Chris will:

  • Do RAT stuff

Stephen will:

  • DICE installs for F13
  • SL 5.5 installroot
