MPU Meeting Wednesday 15th August 2007
LCFG Website
Nothing happened.
Solaris Improvement Project
There were problems with access to our Sunsolve account which prevented patch lists being downloaded. There is a temporary fix in place whilst Sun properly reactivate the account.
salamander
and
cherub
have both now been patched successfully. Hopefully when Craig comes back from his holiday we will be able to get the rest of the Solaris machines up-to-date.
FC6 Project
This project is closed, Alastair will write a short report.
SL5 Project
This is going well, stage 6 is finished. Stages 7, 8 and 9 will be
finished soon.
Operational
- rsync component monitoring
- Stephen has added monitoring support to the rsync component.
- apacheconf component
- Alastair has been looking at this new component for managing apache which has support for monitoring. It needed a bit of work to make it correct for apache 2, all seems to now work for a basic configuration.
- fc5 bug tracking
- Alastair looked into this, his conclusions were that bugtraq is too detailed and verbose and would involve a lot of CO time. There is nothing else useful beyond this though. The most practical solution is to watch the update lists for RHEL 4 and 5 and compare with what we have installed on FC5.
- FC6 qlogic support
- Alastair will have this completed soon.
- New KB rack
- This will be going in sometime in the next couple of weeks.
- rpmsubmit
- Alastair is thinking about unstalling this project and getting it completed.
- FC6 vmplayer support
- vmplayer version 2 is now available for FC6.
This Week
Alastair will :
- FC6 qlogic support
- Look at apacheconf component
- Think about monitoring support for rpmaccel
Chris will:
- Work on SL5
- Chase up article from Sean McGeever
- Ask Toby about MacOSX client problem
Stephen will:
- RT Duty
- Virtualisation talk
