MPU Meeting Monday 19th February 2007
LCFG website
Chris has (just) asked Craig about the possibility of serving
/repository
from pezenas. He'll chase up a reply.
Solaris Improvement Project
Chris will test out the new headers on
phlegethon and Craig will test them on
manticore.
FC5 Upgrade
The move of the LCFG master services to tobermory was done successfully. A number of non-LCFG, non-MPU services remain on achilles. Stephen will mail COs listing these and asking folk to speak up and take responsibility for theirs.
FC6 Project
The core is complete. Updaterpms now runs successfully, though it's not yet being run automatically. Version 3 of updaterpms is being used; this version has no
/noarch
default.
Operational
- installbase documentation
- this is now in the testing release, and all being well will go into the stable release later this week.
- Holiday
- Chris will be on holiday next week.
- LCFG wiki
- Chris will look at this.
- 64 bit CD images
- The release management process should build new install CD images for 64 bit operating systems - initially fc5_64 - alongside the 32 bit ones already made each week. It should but it doesn't yet. Chris will tweak scripts and release procedures to make the 64 bit CD images happen.
- Pezenas disk space
- The disk space on pezenas has doubled to 200GB. There's now room for more OSes' master package repositories. Stephen is going to use it for FC6.
This Week
Alastair will :
- Look at LCFG metadata
- Finish making Julian Bradfield happy
- Test the installbase header changes in testing and get them into stable
- Tidy inf-level headers
Chris will :
- LCFG tutorial planning
- Move some Suns to their new headers
- Issue a stable release
- Make the release management setup make fc5_64 install CD images
- Look into wiki.lcfg.org
Stephen will :
- Build kernels and OpenAFS
- Look into fixing the syslog component
- FC6 project
