MPU Meeting 19th June 2006

When, how often and where we will have MPU meetings

We concluded that we should meet at BP every Monday at 9am

(Start) discuss(ing) our project list and prioritise it from our perspective

We agreed that the following projects should be given priority and fleshed out :-

  • LCFG distribution (Stephen, Paul)
  • LCFG buildtools (Stephen, Paul)
  • Enhancing solaris support - porting components, patch management (Chris)
  • RPM submission system - simple version (AFS, mac and solaris repositories) (Alastair)

The following projects are already underway or should now start :-

  • Release Management (Chris)
  • FC5 (Stephen, Alastair)
  • 64 bit (Stephen, Alastair)

How to carve up areas of responsibilities

We decided to focus on gaining expertise from other units. In particular Chris will learn as much as possible about the Solaris and Mac LCFG platform, for example by installing a Solaris LCFG client and document the procedure and any issues he finds. (ACTION: Chris)

RT rota and picking up existing tickets

  • We agreed that Alastair, Chris and Stephen should process the RT queue on a weekly rotation basis. Stephen has produced a rota MPUrtDuty. (ACTION: Stephen)
  • Stephen will go through the existing linux RT queue and close or create bugs and add to tasklist.
(ACTION: Stephen)

Discuss the task list that I put on the WIKI

We ran out of time to discuss this.
