Fairly well documented already. Iain was already closely involved and has agreed to take control from now onwards if I can answer questions.
BIODB
Have briefed Tim. We're now jointly doing this with Tim as the first point of contact.
Compute Servers
management of service is already properly documented
Condor
  • Big brain dump needed for John.
  • Condor component needs big rewrite.
  • Condor not yet available for FC5.
  • Without new Condor component, any Condor software upgrade is time-consuming & fiddly.
  • Big Condor pool requested for summer (RT 23966).
Events
management of service is already properly documented. This was Tim's anyway so no need for any knowledge transfer.
Matlab licences
  • RAT & Services need to disentangle Matlab licences from login servers (RAT is working on this)
  • This was Tim's anyway so no need for any knowledge transfer.
S Plus
Morna is working on it.
TFTP
management of service is already properly documented. However it's not detailed enough. More handover effort will be needed, covering various aspects of DICE system management. The deadline for this is the end of August 06.
Webots
management of service is already properly documented
Local XEmacs setup
very little remains of this, just a site startup file. Now ported to FC5. Need to explain to Tim.

From Chris to Services

In general Craig is happy with the documentation for all ex misc services team services. But we should go through it all again and try to spot things that haven't been covered.

Corpora
This was all managed by Bill, who's in the Services unit anyway, so there's nothing to be done here.
CVS
