Lantronix Serial Connection to Evolution SAN Boxes
The Dothill Evolution SAN boxes have serial consoles, but they use some form of mini-RS232 connector. However they do ship with a cable to attach that mini connector directly to a DB9 Male serial connector on the back of PCs. The serial speed is 115200 baud.
Unfortunately the Lantronix Serial adapters we have (see
LantronixSLCConnections section 1) are also DB9 Female, so we can't daisy chain the Evolution cable into that. Plus the default Lantronix speed is 9600.
Looking at the wiring of the standard Lantronix serial adapters and by sourcing some "wire it yourself RJ45 to DB9 Male" adapters, we've come up with a replacement Lantronix adapter that works with the Evolution serial cable.
- Wiring suitable for Dothill Evolution serial cable to lantronix RJ45 adapter:
In case it is useful, the last two types of adapter I wired had the same coloured to RJ45 pins wiring. No guarantee it will be the same for you.

When connecting the Evolution to the serial console, you'll need to ask someone from the Infrastructure unit to set the port speed to 115200 from the default of 9600.
