Hardware Testing
Here are some ideas on what to test if you're testing DICE on a particular hardware model to see if it works (for example if there's a new version of DICE or a new hardware model):
- Install from CD
- Install from PXE
- Is graphics support working? Does it look like the correct resolution?
- Try login to gnome and kde. For both:
- Try firefox, particularly try websites that use kx509, Flash, java
- Try thunderbird
- Try locking the screen and then unlocking again
- Try sending something to a printer (apparently not at the moment - squinney 2007/04/24)
- Can you view a PDF file with acroread?
- Does sound work? - Try playing a CD, realmedia stream, etc..
- If there's a DVD player, can you play a DVD?
- Does openoffice work?
- Can you mount a USB device
