Configuring USB on a Xerox MFD

On collins.inf, run firefox --no-remote, and browse to printer URL (for example,, aka if237c0)

Then login as "admin" (ask Services for password if required), and enable USB-stick support via menu options:

Properties: Services: Scan to USB: General and then click Enabled

and also check the actual port(s) are enabled via:

Properties: Security: USB Port Security

(there is also a link to the "Scan to USB: General" settings from this page).

Note that, while this may configure/enable the scan-to-USB functionality, no scan-to-USB options will be presented without a front-panel option.

Printing from USB

- enable the "Print From" button, which will appear on display panel (alongside "Copy", "Email", and "Fax") via Properties: Services: Services Registration menu.

Selecting the "Print From" button prompts user to "insert USB device", which should be recognised on insertion.

Scanning to USB

- enable scanning via the "Workflow Scanning" in Properties: Services: Services Registration. This displays the "Workflow Scanning" button on the front panel. Selecting this will bring up the USB scanning display (and the USB stick can then be inserted), or just inserting the USB stick will bring up the USB scanning display automatically.

  • USB Scan front-panel display on MFD:

Hitting the big green button then starts the scan. File on USB stick is named DOC.pdf.

Note that, besides the configuration requirements above, the physical USB socket to the left of the display panel needs to be uncovered, and the USB-symbol face-plate inserted. There is a storage pocket inside Tray 1, on the right-hand side.
