Update on actions from last meeting.

  • Web search front end to package repository
    • Check ok with Perdita. Comments from Alastair. Pending updates. [Action Roger]
  • Redevelop User Documentation
    • Need a way to hold "secured access" files within @ed. Add to project descriptor. [Action Alison]
    • Alastair to define and publish a URL structure. [Action Alastair]
  • Windows 7 Upgrade
    • Issues with AFS, removal of virus checker may work, other options. Review AFS use on Windows. [Action Alastair]
    • Produce a document on pros/cons of using IS space instead of local AFS space for Windows7 users. [Action Alison]
  • Inventory Improvement
    • Alastair to add "firmware" version as a machine attribute in the new inventory structure. [Action Alastair]
  • Migration of AFS data
    • Tim to take sign off to CEG for final ratification. [Action Tim]
  • Software Download Portal/Repository: Stage 1
    • Tim to send Roger summary of earlier discussion with David. IS DSpace service may be an option. [Action Tim]
  • SL6 upgrade for US Unit
    • Add touch screen servers to the list. [Action Alison]

  • Schedule a documentation week. [Action Tim]
  • Schedule a discussion on handling project technical design proposals/changes/recording. [Action Tim]
  • Alastair has a list of "what users would like from documentation". Add into the documentation queue on RT. [Action Alastair]
  • We decided to stop using the old Perl-AFS module in favour of the more supported Perl command line invocation variant, pending comment from Stephen. [Action Stephen]
