    • November: Modify all nodes to conform to new URL structure.

    • This Month: Create some reports eg to report on content requiring review. Document staging procedure from test server. Document core/module upgrade procedure. Circulate list of services which haven't yet been documented.

  • Inventory Improvement
    • November: Produce project proposal for follow-on project

    • This Month: As project has been resourced, firm up some loose requirements.

  • Prometheus AFS PTS conduit
    • November: Depends on AFS perl modules decision
    • Last Month: Decision made but SL6 took priority so nothing done
    • This Month: SL6 will take priority so little to nothing

  • Password strength checks
    • November: Follow up with MIT; and if nothing comes from that then re-write them from scratch (and submit back to Russ!).
    • Last Month: Haven't been pushing, as depends on KDC upgrade. Have asked MIT, and have got patches from Greg Hudson.
    • This Month: Merge Greg's patches into Russ's code, and package. Test if time permits. Roll-out is likely to be January, after testing, assuming KDC upgrade by then.

  • OpenLDAP 2.4 Upgrade
    • November: Upgrade franklin (LDAP master) to SL6_64/OpenLDAP 2.4. Write report and finish this project.

  • Account reconciliation
    • November: Group remaining locked accounts into bite-sized chunks - need reliable end-date from database for this bit.

  • inf-unit SL6 server platform work
    • November: Start planning prometheus upgrade. perl-AFS consensus needs to be reached (code changes to AFS conduits will probably delay prometheus upgrade). Write as much of the report as we can
    • Last Month: Start writeup. Prometheus planning/testing/installation - service just needs to be moved to SL6.
    • This Month: Finish prometheus upgrade. Finish writeup and submit for signoff.

  • MPU SL6 Server Upgrades
    • November: Upgrade [wiki|web|rsync].lcfg.org. Upgrade the packages master to 32 bit SL6.
    • Last Month: Preparatory work for upgrading [wiki|web|rsync].lcfg.org and packages master carried out.
    • This Month: Complete upgrade of [wiki|web|rsync].lcfg.org and packages master.

  • Webmark Reform
    • November: Produce development plan
    • Last Month: outline planning, requirements elicitation
    • This Month: produce development plan

  • SL6 upgrade for US Unit
    • November:
    • Last Month: Continued with server upgrades. Progress can be followed here
    • This Month: Still in negotiation about kairos and pasta but given deadline of 19th December. Complete server upgrades (except devproj). Upgrade display screens.

  • SL6 upgrade for Services Unit
    • November: More of the same. Will need to schedule a rolling program for the Forum and AT AFS servers.
    • Last Month: Not sure what the count was last time, but we've still got 19 machines/services to do. By doing some shuffling, managed to do the AT file servers that only affected 30 or so group volumes.
    • This Month: The remaining 19 machines!

  • SL6 upgrade for RAT Unit
    • November: finish upgrade
    • Last Month:working on rt4, upgrading misc servers
    • This Month: finish upgrade

  • KDC upgrade to 1.9
    • November: toby/gdmr to consider plan for moving bevan to master; some investigations into running a 1.9 master have already been done
    • Last Month: Some consideration.
    • This Month: More consideration. Do the upgrade, assuming toby/gdmr have converged on a plan

  • System Security Enhancements.
    • November: Complete AIDE component and produce documentation. Decide on a suitable AIDE configuration for our servers. (Alastair, for Stephen)
    • Last Month: Completed all coding. Wrote documentation for all components, started higher-level user docs.
    • This Month: Finish documentation.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade
    • November: Meeting IS to discuss options including moving user space, including group space, to IS file space. Note: Windows XP end-of-life at end of year.
    • Last Month: Met with IS to discuss options. Most workable configuration appears to be to replace Kaspersky with Microsoft Home Essentials and to turn off offline synchronisation. Agreed with Liz/Julie to restart upgrades.
    • This Month: Complete upgrade of admin staff (except Portfolio Managers).

  • Increasing Energy Savings from DICE Desktops
    • November: (New project)
    • Last Month: (New project)
    • This Month: Start project. Collect desktop sleep data with BuzzSaw. Assess the data. Establish regular sleep rate data collection / retrieval facility. Work out how best to tweak the sleep setup to improve sleep rates, design solutions, implement them.

  • Documentation update - managed platform unit
    • November: Some explanation of what DICE platform is. Document DIYDICE
    • Last Month: Started work on DICE platform doc.
    • This Month: Finish work on DICE platform doc. Document DIYDICE

  • Absence Reporting Management
    • November: Establish requirements, explore technical possibilities.
    • Last Month: Established requirements, explored technical possibilities. Established the probable solution and wrote an interim report. No further progress will be possible until full line manager data is in our database. This will take some months.
    • This Month: Stalling this project.

  • User accessible login reports

    • This Month: Learn more Python. Develop code to do necessary SQL queries. Simple CGI script to produce reports.
