Please fill in actual activity for Last Month (May) and intended activity for This Month (June) for projects you are responsible for. For reference, the intended activity recorded for May is included where an entry had been made (it is considered unhelpful to alter this to match what actual activity was :). It is acceptable to change devproj milestones as part of this process, however if you do please indicate that you have done so below, for example by adding a Change of Plan bullet point, so that the meeting is alerted to the changes.

  • Redevelop User Documentation
    • May: 7.14 just released so will upgrade. Work with Units on remaining documentation.
    • Last Month: Discussed content with RAT and Services. Upgraded ladbroke (test machine) to 7.14. Added taxonomy term "Units" to allow content to be assigned ownership. Created a taxonomy list called 'tags' which allows 'free-tagging' but uses auto-completion to reduce risk of unnecessary duplicates. Continued porting and editing.
    • This Month:

  • Implement print quotas via Pcounter
    • May: introduce improved access mechanism
    • Last Month: Improved access mechanism investigated but immediate solution apparent

    • Last Month: Not much.
    • This Month: As May.

    • This Month: Upgrade franklin (LDAP master) to SL6_64/OpenLDAP 2.4

  • Introduction of Drupal as the new commodity WCMS
    • May: Need to update milestones as things are slipping and the order in which we'll be looking at things has changed. Though I expect Cookies will also get in the way.
    • Last Month: Not much. Do have an initial dice/options/drupal.h . Do we just assume Drupal 7, or should it be renamed drupal7.h, or perhaps take a #define to say which drupal you'll be using? Updated all the slipped Milestones, now that I can concentrate on this project.
    • This Month: Work on the modules and workflow milestones.

  • inf-unit SL6 server platform work
    • May: Kerberos: solve afsdb problem and upgrade real slave. Prometheus: solve perl-AFS problem and test SL6 properly. Cosign/ifriend: do enough testing that we can plan to move one server to SL6. Upgrade AT external router, possibly to be followed by the Forum and AT network services machines (pending a plan to relocate the OpenVPN endpoints).
    • Last Month: Upgraded AT external router. All our 'easy' SL5-to-SL6 upgrades have now been done. Kerberos slave upgrades stalled on afsdb co-location issue. Prometheus upgrade stalled on perl-AFS. Cosign testing completed - 2nd 'weblogintest' installed as sl6_64 and works OK, opportunity taken for additional cosign testing (failover, spnego, etc.). sixkts sl6_64 installed and tested. kx509 server upgrade more troublesome - our package doesn't work on sl6_64; obtained more recent version of code from sourceforge, mixture of our patches and 3 from umich (in particular because openssl API changes in 1.0.0). Server-side works OK; client-side works OK, except through pam, but I think I can patch this and get it working. Perhaps consider long-term future for kx509 - "There's definitely no active maintenance of kx509 at umich.", "kx509 has pretty much been picked up by secure-endpoints", but latter appears very windows-focused.
    • This Month: Install new KB SL6 console server. Once new KB SL6 console server is installed, set that up as ifriend slave. Then, upgrade berlin (cosign, ifriend kdc slave) to SL6; plan on osprey (cosign, ifriend kdc master) after that. Finalise kx509 code and put sl6 server into service (alongside sl5 ones at first). Move sixkts service to SL6 VM. Push afsdb/perl-AFS issues, as appropriate. Plan upgrade of Forum and AT network services machines (site nameservers and OpenVPN endpoints). Revisit packaging of network configuration tools, extend migration scripts, and plan upgrade of network infrastructure machines.
