  • Revisit Account Management
    • April: Bring all recent code into service iteratively (and carefully). API documentation review. Distribute client code to all machines. Holidays will reduce amount of available effort this month. This project now expected to be complete by mid-May.
    • Last Month: Little effort due to shortened month and holidays. Plan for bringing outstanding code into service finalised and process started. Progress on lifecycle code and arbitrary object manipulation tools - some object ownership issues.
    • This Month: Bring all recent code into service. API documentation review. Distribute client code to all machines. Complete lifecycle and other outstanding code. Draw line under project - mid-May.

  • School Database Revamp
    • April: Close out all work to do on IGS Student PGR (imminent, very probably end of this week). Deploy a final PGR update. Close out all work to facilitate moving ITO/HR/Admin/COs to the new front end client (scoped and likely to be done by end of next week). Deploy a final update. Move across (with some re-training) ITO/HR/Admin/COs. Close out project (remaining documentation, final report, etc). We expect final moves to be done for the end of April but project close out likely to bleed into early May.
    • Last Month: All work on IGS and ISS now closed out (taking somewhat longer than planned due to moving goalposts).
    • This Month: Complete prep work for ITO etc move and aiming to be done within the next fortnight including deployment of update. Actual move and any re-training will be carried out by user support.

  • Software build farm
    • April: Roll out some code improvements to improve handling of large jobs. Reinstall master server with larger AFS cache. Finish the documentation.
    • Last Month: Code changes to improve scalability rolled out. Master server reinstalled. Admin docs mostly done.
    • This Month: Finish admin docs. Add user docs. Submit for closure.

  • AV facilities
    • April: Hopefully faulty kit will be returned but G07 is heavily booked so may have to wait until May.

    • April:
    • Last Month: testing revised dhcpd code on beowulf dhcpd server
    • This Month: have Infrastructure check diffs and ship new version

  • LCFG layer SL6 port
    • April: Complete DICE work, agree package lists with RAT, test on more platforms, check server related functionality.
    • Last Month: Completed DICE work, tested on all but one desktop platform and some servers, checked server functionality (except multipath due to kernel bug).
    • This Month: Agree package lists with RAT. Test on server platforms (subject to h/w availability).

  • Improvements in mirror management
    • April: Finish the "report" method, and test.
    • Last Month: There is now a report method, but needs fixing, it's not reporting some important cases.

  • Redevelop User Documentation
    • April: More surfer sessions, expand focus group to an Institute, continue work on taxonomy and views and continue porting documentation.
    • Last Month: Expanded focus group to a number of Institutes with a few useful responses. Continued with taxonomy and views.
    • This Month: Respond to responses. Complete taxonomy and views

  • Deploy TiBS to self managed machines
    • April: Test new release of client software, update documentation if necessary
    • Last Month: New client software tested, documentation updated, more new clients added.
    • This Month: Blog article, hopefully more clients

  • Implement print quotas via Pcounter
    • April: Produce header files for kerberised server. Web based printing for hosts which cannot use kerberised printing directly. Desktop widget showing printing credit

    • April: Holidays will probably get in the way, put possibly more DR work, and look at the folder listing again.
    • Last Month: As expected, nothing.
    • This Month: More complete DR setup.

  • Course in a Box
    • April: Final revision of requirements list
    • Last Month: ISS/Course organisers meeting to finalise requirements list
    • This Month: Final list distributed, confirmation/approval awaited. End.

  • Account reconciliation
    • April: Pick up again; Start deleting people.
    • Last Month: No activity due to short month/holidays.

  • Prometheus: migration to new database feeds
    • April: Test and bring code into service, pending RAT investigation of discrepancies in 3g feed.

  • Further AFS development and automation
