Letter to Sound Bibliography

Overview

One way of looking at emergent phones in this project is as a set of pronunciations linked to a lexicon. By taking the database we can assign a set of pronunciations to each word the speaker has said. However for synthesis we need to generate pronunciations for the words the speakers has not said. Letter to sound techniques are ideal for modelling this part of the system.

PBA: Pronunciation by Analogy

This idea is basically to use fragments of pronuciation sequences you have in your lexicon to generate new pronunciations.
